Unleashing Hope: The Impact of EENP’s Service Dog Training Program

Photos by Paris Geolas

This EENP work release trainer, like all of the other ABEL trainers, had no experience in dog training prior to joining the program. To be able to join, an inmate must be interviewed by EENP staff and accepted to the program, and then shadow another trainer before receiving his dog to train, which remains with him all day and night. From six months to 2 or 3 years old, the dogs stay in the detention center with their ABEL trainer.
