Number of N.C. Homeschools continues to rise

Homeschool student Adaline Simpson, 10, shows off her musical skills on a typical weekday morning. Simpson has been playing the harp for more than a year as her mother and teacher, Linda Simpson, feels that music is a key element to education at an early age. "Music benefits focus, problem solving skills and overall well-being," Linda Simpson said. "It's a talent that they can use to improve their life and benefit those around them now through adulthood."
