Healthcare Associated Infections are the third leading cause of death in the United States. In 2013, the government took a look at the numbers each hospital reported and reduced the funding of the worse 25% of hospitals by 1%. As a result of the high number of medical errors, hospitals and educational centers are implementing methods to reduce these numbers.
