Healthcare Associated Infections are the third leading cause of death in the United States. In 2013, the government took a look at the numbers each hospital reported and reduced the funding of the worse 25% of hospitals by 1%.
As a result of the high number of medical errors, hospitals and educational centers are implementing methods to reduce these numbers. In the visuals below you can see how many hospitals were punished per state, and use the map to see if you home hospital was one of them.
