Bee Downtown is doing its part to help save the honeybees

According to Apidologie, a scientific journal on the study of bees, the U.S. lost 44 percent of its honeybees last year. Without honeybees, foods like apples, onions, avocados and broccoli would all be gone. One Triangle-area company, Bee Downtown, is trying to save the bees by bringing them to urban areas. Bee Downtown installs and maintains beehives, sponsored by local businesses, at landmark places across the Triangle, such as the American Tobacco Campus and Honeysuckle Tea House.
